Surah Al-Fatiha is narrated in the Hadith to have been divided into two halves between God and His servant (the person reciting), the first three verses being His half and last three being the servant's.

Surah Al-Fatihah is the most read Surah in every Muslim's life, regardless of their age and gender, if they are committed to their Ṣalāh. Even Muslims who are not committed to their Ṣalāh find themselves reciting Surah Al-Fatihah on regular basis, i.e., during weddings, ritual events, during funerals and other occasions. Basically there seem to be a consensus among scholars that repeating the recitation of al-Fatihah in the prayer without a valid reason is at least makrooh (there are opinions saying it invalidates the prayer).
